Unveiled at ITB Berlin 2024, Sama 2.0 is here to take your travel experience to new heights. This friendly AI assistant, whose name translates to “sky” in Arabic, uses conversational AI to answer your questions about Qatar Airways in real-time. Need to know baggage allowance for your upcoming trip to Bali? Curious about onboard meal options? She’s got you. As an AI cabin crew member, Sama 2.0, developed with New Zealand AI firm UneeQ, can also serve as a virtual travel consultant who can personalize your experience, helping you design a bespoke trip or suggest destinations or onboard services that fit your interests. If you’re planning a romantic getaway, Sama might recommend a luxurious cabin with mood lighting and in-flight spa treatments. Traveling with kids? The assistant could suggest flights with in-seat entertainment systems loaded with children’s movies. Currently communicating in English on the Qatar Airways mobile app and the airline’s immersive digital platform, QVerse, Sama 2.0 is set to learn and improve over time from her interactions with passengers.
