McDonald's, Hello Kitty & Yu-Gi-Oh walk into a Happy Meal

McDonald’s has been on an anime roll lately. Not only has it made WcDonald’s, its counterpart in several Japanese animations, real, but it is also dueling expectations by fueling the ever-adorable Hello Kitty with the popular monster-battling world of Yu-Gi-Oh!

 

This unexpected team-up by McDosees Hello Kitty and her friends ditch their signature bows and trade them for something a bit more monstrous, turning Sanrio characters into a spunky Dark Magician Girl or a cuddly Kuriboh. These limited-edition Happy Meal toys features 10 different designs, each playfully transforming the beloved characters into Yu-Gi-Oh monsters.

 

A special commercial showcases the adorable mashup that’s set to appeal to both children and fans of the anime series and trading card game through April 9.
