Apple is said to be gearing up for a overhaul of its entire Mac line with new M4 computer processors.

The M4 chips, with their AI processing capabilities, are set to be integrated into every Mac model. The lineup includes refreshed iMacs, the Mac Mini, a 14-inch MacBook Pro catering to the lower end, along with high-end models of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

Expected to debut late this year, and into early 2025, the M4 family of chips is designed to optimize AI functionality across various tasks, offering enhanced performance and efficiency with a new version of MacOS. There will be "at least three main varieties" of the chips, ranging from the entry-level to more powerful versions.

Apple’s initiative to incorporate AI into its products is seen as an attempt to catch up with tech peers like Microsoft and Google. Despite being perceived as a laggard in AI, Apple’s new chips could potentially shift the dynamics.

With the prevalence and high frequency of AI technology these days, will Apple’s upcoming chips prove enough to help it keep its edge as an industry game-changer? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
