‘Spongebob’ movie director promises ‘there WILL be nudity’ in upcoming film

Will Bikini Bottom get a bare exposure? Paramount Pictures has unveiled the logo for The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, set to hit theaters only on December 19, 2025.

 

To give fans another early peep, director Derek Drymon has teased in a comment on Instagram that “there WILL be nudity,” seemingly aligning with the movie’s title.

 

In his post, Drymon also shares that he’s felt “lucky to be working with an incredible crew on the new SpongeBob movie.”

Don’t worry; there won’t be an X-rated Bikini Bottom. Fans would know that SpongeBob and his friends occasionally get down to some decent exposure, ensuring to keep the show friendly for all ages.

 

 

 

 

While December of next year might seem like a long time away, the director mentions it is “right around the corner in animation terms.”

 

In the forthcoming movie, everyone’s favorite pineapple-dwelling fry cook will reportedly face off against the ever-grumpy ghost of the Flying Dutchman, venturing into the ocean’s uncharted depths.

 

One thing’s almost for certain—you’ll likely laugh your own pants off.
