John Lennon’s ‘Mind Games’ gets a meditative makeover: Explore your subconscious with Lumenate

Recommended Posts

The John Lennon Estate has joined forces with the innovative meditation app Lumenate for a unique collaboration. This project centers around Lennon’s iconic 1973 track, ‘Mind Games,’ resulting in a series of meditation mixes designed to guide your mind into deeper states of consciousness.

About Lumenate

Lumenate isn’t your average meditation app. It leverages the power of light and neuroscience, utilizing research-driven stroboscopic light sequences emitted from your phone’s flashlight. These sequences are said to induce an altered state that bridges the gap between deep meditation and classic psychedelics. Developed by entrepreneurs Tom Galea and Jay Conlon, Lumenate aims to democratize subconscious exploration, making it readily accessible on your smartphone.

The concept of using light to alter consciousness isn’t new. Its roots trace back to the early 1960s, with the emergence of stroboscopic light experimentation on the fringes of mainstream culture. Lumenate draws inspiration from the Dreamachine, a device created during that era by Beat Surrealist artist Brion Gysin and scientist Ian Sommerville.
