Jobhunter
Take-Two Interactive, a prominent player in the gaming industry, has reportedly decided to shut down its Seattle office. This move is part of a larger restructuring process that includes the closure of two of its game studios. The studios facing closure are Roll7, a UK-based developer known for games like Rollerdrome and OlliOlli, and Intercept Games, a Seattle-based studio working on the popular space flight simulation game, Kerbal Space Program 2. The decision has led to concerns about job losses within the gaming industry, with around 70 employees at Intercept Games expected to be affected. Take-Two Interactive had previously announced a workforce reduction of 5%, and these closures seem to be a part of that plan. Despite the closures, Take-Two’s subsidiary, Private Division, will continue to support Kerbal Space Program 2. As the gaming industry continues to evolve, such decisions by major players like Take-Two Interactive are bound to have significant implications. What are your thoughts on these closures?
