Garth Gator
For years, there have been talks about Apple finally entering the foldable device market currently dominated by Samsung and Huawei. Now, credible analyst reports suggest the wait may be nearing its end. According to Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, Apple’s foray into foldables is expected to begin in late 2025 with a large-screen device, followed by a foldable iPhone in late 2026. 2025: Foldable large-screen device The first Apple foldable is projected to sport a massive 20.3-inch display, blurring the lines between tablet and laptop. This hybrid device could potentially function as a foldable iPad offering increased screen real estate for creative pursuits or transform into a MacBook-like experience with a virtual keyboard and trackpad. 2026: Foldable iPhone Following the initial foldable launch, Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone in late 2026. Speculation suggests two potential display sizes: 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches. It remains unclear if Apple will offer both options or choose a single size. Regardless, the foldable iPhone is predicted to be a premium offering, potentially forming a new ultra-high-end tier within Apple's smartphone lineup.
