Adult Swim launches new Toonami Rewind block featuring anime classics like Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z Kai and Naruto

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 31st, because that's when Toonami Rewind takes flight on Adult Swim.This is a whole new weekly programming block dedicated to airing classic anime, marking the first time Toonami has graced our weekday screens in 20 years. It airs every Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). Prepare for a powerful punch of nostalgia as they bring back some of the most iconic anime that dominated the Toonami block in the late 90s and early 2000s.

 

The lineup is epic:

• Sailor Moon: The OG magical guardians themselves return! This time, you'll get to experience the adventures of Usagi Tsukino and the Sailor Guardians in the newer Viz Media dub, offering a more faithful translation compared to the original DiC version you might remember.
• Dragon Ball Z Kai: Calling all Saiyans! This leaner, meaner version of the classic Dragon Ball Z condenses the story, cutting out some of the filler episodes while keeping the epic battles and iconic transformations that made it a global phenomenon.
• Naruto: The legendary ninja saga of Naruto Uzumaki and his journey to become Hokage returns. Prepare to relive the intense battles, hilarious moments, and the unforgettable characters that made Naruto a cornerstone of the Toonami block.

 

Toonami Rewind isn't just about reliving the amazing anime series. It's bringing back the entire experience you remember. Expect to be greeted by those awesome classic Toonami bumps and hear the iconic music that made Toonami such a unique and beloved programming block.
