Marvel’s Avengers and Ultraman join forces for new limited-issue comic series

Marvel’s Avengers and Japan’s Ultraman are joining forces. This collaboration marks the first time these iconic characters from different parts of the globe will share the same comic book pages.

 

The limited-issue series, titled ‘Ultraman X Avengers’, is set to debut in August. This much-anticipated event is the brainchild of the creative trio - Kyle Higgins, Mat Groom, and Francesco Manna. These talented individuals are no strangers to the Ultraman universe, having previously worked on Marvel’s Ultraman comic series.

 

The narrative unfolds with Spider-Man’s sudden disappearance from New York and the arrival of an intergalactic invader at Ultraman’s doorstep. The Earth’s Kaiju are behaving more mysteriously than usual, signaling the need for Ultraman to team up with the Avengers.

 

 

The series promises a rich tapestry of appearances from mainstay Avengers, Spider-Man, and more. Readers can look forward to witnessing the meeting of Shin and Sam, the clash of Spacium Ray and Repulsor Ray, and the iconic “THWIP!” meeting "SHUWATCH!".

 

This crossover is a significant milestone, considering both Ultraman and the Avengers were created in the 1960s and have since become the most popular and successful superheroes in their respective regions. The creators expressed their excitement about this historic meeting and the opportunity to explore the interactions, differences, and learnings between these characters.
