Is YouTube down?

Many users have taken to Downdetector to report that they are having issues loading YouTube at the moment, May 27 around 8AM EDT.

 

The number of complaints started to climb since around 6:18AM ET. A number of them indicated that their videos skip straight to the end, while another said that is no sound on any of the videos. Some reactions to these users suggested that the issues may be linked to ad-blockers and recommended switching them off to resolve the issues.

 

During our test (sans ad-blockers), the website youtube.com loaded normally, and videos seem to play ok with sound, so it's likely that the system issues are not universal, but affecting some users only.
