Adidas recently introduced the Adizero Prime x 2 Strung, the latest addition to its vast selection of running shoes. However, unlike the others, athletes won’t be able to don this pair at elite races.

While racing shoes are typically limited to a maximum stack height of 40 mm (1.57 inches) and a single carbon plate, the latest model takes things up a notch with a 50 mm (1.96 inches) stack height and a double carbon-infused plate system.

At the heart of this innovation lies the re-engineered midsole, boasting an impressive three layers of Lightstrike Pro foam—a unique feature among the brand’s existing lineup.
