Giant 911 Porsche Parks Itself In The Heart Of Munich

Over the weekend, Munich’s IAA Mobility trade show was abuzz with an eye-catching spectacle from Porsche: a sprawling outdoor display featuring a colossal sculpture shaped like the iconic 911.

Right smack in the center of the Open Space plaza sat a giant 911, which served as a “tent” for the festival, taking the shape of a wheel-less 911 to house activities from the fair and to keep visitors safe from the summer sun. The structure also pays homage to the first time the 911 made its debut at the IAA 60 years ago.

“The 911 is famous worldwide for its unique silhouette. This sculpture is first and foremost a symbol representing the many stories and experiences of enthusiasts, fans and customers that have shaped the iconic image of the 911 worldwide,” said Ragnar Schulte, Head of Experiential Marketing at Porsche.
