Hallmark and Kansas City Chiefs are (for real) making a 'Love Story' holiday movie—after spoof trailer

No kidding this time, Hallmark is for real partnering with the Kansas City Chiefs to make a heartwarming holiday film, 'Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story’. This collaboration marks a unique blend of sports and romance, offering viewers a delightful fusion of football and festive cheer.

 

 

The movie, set to air during Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas, features Tyler Hynes and Hunter King in leading roles. Filming will take place entirely in Kansas City, Missouri, making it the first Hallmark production to be shot at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, supposedly "the loudest stadium in the world."

 

‘Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story’ revolves around Alana Higman (played by King), a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs superfan. Her family is in the running to win the team’s ‘Fan of the Year’ contest. Derrick (portrayed by Hynes), the Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with evaluating Alana and her family’s fandom. As the pair spend time together, sparks fly, but when Alana’s grandfather’s vintage Chiefs good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to question her beliefs about fate, destiny, and even her future with Derrick.

 

This collaboration between Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs is not their first. Earlier this year, they celebrated the playoff season with a campaign titled ‘‘Tis the Preseason’, which included a trailer for a spoof movie titled 'Falling for Football’. This new venture, however, is their first full-length feature film.

 

 

Will this unique blend of sports and romance set a new trend in the film industry? And, most importantly, the big question: Will Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce’s superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift make a cameo? Santa, please make our Christmas wish come true!
