Swarovski x Coperni unveil dazzling, 3.7-pound crystal handbag with nearly 200 facets

Swarovski has taken a shine to the avant-garde with a collaboration with Coperni, the Parisian label known for its unusual fashion drops, like Bella Hadid’s spray-on dress. Debuted at Paris Fashion Week during Coperni’s Spring/Summer 2025 showcase at Disneyland, this glittering collaboration drew gasps alongside Disney-themed pieces like the Ariel Swipe Bag, Mickey Mouse shoes, and a Maleficent hoodie.

Weighing a hefty 1.7 kg (about 3.7 lbs), the Crystal Swipe Bag is a showstopper, covered in 171 precision-cut crystal facets. Swarovski’s artisans spent 110 hours handcrafting this masterpiece, which gleams with the kind of sparkle you’d expect from a modern-day Cinderella moment. In fact, Swarovski explains that this accessory-slash-sculpture looks to the fabled glass slipper as its inspiration.

Crafted from around 10 kg (22 lbs) of Swarovski crystal glass, the bag has a smooth, polished surface that radiates a fairytale-like elegance. The Coperni wordmark is proudly engraved on the front, while Swarovski’s iconic swan makes its mark at the base, leaving no doubt about the craftsmanship carrying it.

Interestingly, back in 2023, Swarovski recreated Cinderella’s glass slipper from Disney’s 2015 live-action film. This stunning piece, auctioned off with the House of Mouse to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, was made from solid Aurora Borealis crystal, featuring 221 intricately cut facets and saw a team of eight Swarovski artisans in the Austrian Alps pour 150 hours into crafting the slipper.
